RedHat Extending Currency for Various Certifications

Good news if you are the holder of a RedHat Certification of Expertise or a RedHat Architect Certification, RedHat may be extending the freshness date of your certification(s). To that effect, they have announced a one year extension to the period for which many of their certifications will be considered current. While this does not affect RHCSA and RHCE certs, this announcement may allow those pursuing advanced RedHat certifications to breathe a little easier as they strive toward new certification milestones while working to keep previous ones current.

You can find details on this change at The RedHat.com Blog.

Welcome to SmashTheCert.com!

My name is Steven, and I built SmashTheCert.com to help you achieve your IT certification goals. With over a decade in IT, I have been fortunate to dabble in many interesting areas of information technology, including Systems Administration, Hardware Support, Networking, Database Management, and Development. Being insatiably curious and fundamentally motivated by self-growth and development, I am constantly looking for something new to learn. And with respect to the ever-expanding world of technology, IT certifications are a challenging and valuable means of documenting that learning process for oneself and potential clients or employers.

If you are in the market for a job (or perhaps a promotion) in the IT field, then you already know how crucial these designations can be when it comes to communicating your skills and experience to a hiring manager or small business decision maker. These days, the name on one’s business card looks positively naked without at least one or two power-infused acronyms behind it.

In my career I have successfully attained industry certification for products from Microsoft, Novell, Cisco, Checkpoint, Oracle, and RedHat Linux. On top of that, I have completed degrees in Political Science, as well as Biology with emphasis on pre-medical studies. So let’s just say I know a little bit about how to prepare for and pass a test. =) By building SmashTheCert.com, it is my sincere wish to pass on the best of all that I have learned to help you achieve the certifications you need to propel your career and your life to the next level.

With best wishes for your career and your future,

Steven Franks
